Da due anni il berlinese Niko ha messo da parte i suoi studi in diritto per prendere la vita così come viene, passando il tempo a riflettere su cosa fare. Da solo o con l’amico Matze, vaga per la città interessandosi alle persone che incontra e alle loro attività. Durante una giornata particolare, sperimenta però le conseguenze del suo atteggiamento passivo: la fidanzata lo lascia, il padre decide di tagliargli i fondi, l’ex compagno di classe Julika lo affronta per alcune ferite del passato e l’intera città sembra aver finito il caffè.
